Stop smoking and vaping completely. The damage to blood vessels begins almost immediately and builds over time. Cut back sharply on energy drinks and caffeine-heavy beverages. They raise heart rate and blood pressure in ways that put extra stress on the heart.
Manage Stress and Sleep
Chronic stress raises levels of hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. These affect heart rhythm and blood pressure. Over time, they contribute to cardiovascular disease. Stress and emotional health are directly connected to heart function in ways that most young people do not fully appreciate.
